Mike Miller-Smith

Mike-Miller.jpgMike started his career as a commercial pilot. After becoming disabled in his twenties, he subsequently entered the pharmaceutical and IT industries. Despite profound disability he worked his way up the ladder, to a General Manager position in 2004, having held senior positions in global companies. Mike is now Chief Executive of Aerobility.

Mike has always had a passion for flight and since early teenage years has been closely involved with aviation, continuing to fly, achieving over 2,000 hours to date. During this time he has held various executive committee positions for aviation and charitable organisations, and has been an award-winning pilot with a passion for introducing the thrill of flight to others.

Mike has a BSc in Applied Science from the University of Glamorgan, and lives in Hampshire with his partner Katy and stepson Michael. He regularly gives talks and motivational presentations, and is comfortable in media settings.

Muscular Dystrophy is a progressive genetic neurological condition which in Mike's case has completely taken away his ability to move. He permanently uses an electric wheelchair. Mike leads a family life, and continues to work, drive and fly.
