SciArt Exchange wants to change the world by bringing science and technology together with art to capture minds and hearts, engaging everyone in the future of space exploration and promoting scientific innovation and collaboration.
As part of its portfolio, SciArt Exchange manages the international Humans in Space Art Program. Through online contests, the Program invites participants of all ages and backgrounds to think about the future of human space flight and to creatively communicate their ideas through visual, literary, musical, and video artwork. The Program then makes these ideas viewable through multi-media displays and performances online, locally worldwide, and in space.
By early 2016, we would like to launch a new, international contest, inviting both youth and college/early-career participants to submit multi-media artwork addressing a theme related to the Stepping Stones to Mars. The following year, we would like to take that artwork on tour to inspire the larger public.
Interested organizations and individuals have multiple opportunities to work with us and with each other and to gain positive visibility in this global movement. Groups or individuals who would like to sponsor an activity, offer in kind relationships, or host a display are encouraged to contact us. Educators and others interested in engaging participants in their area, please sign up on our mailing list to be notified about open contests at http://www.lpi.usra.edu/humansinspaceart/#.
